Miniature Watercolors, Encaustic Frames

This one is my favorite... I'm a hat person and I loved the two white hats they were wearing.  I finished it last week but didn't get it posted.   I also finished the elephant earlier but added the frame this week.  The frames are encaustic and New York Times magazine pages again.

The paintings are lovely. I also love hats. I adore the encaustic frames! I guess the treated pages are glued together with wax. Oil paint or other pigment as well, or just the colours from the print? Really, really fun and different and clever. Well done!

Really beautifully unique frames and art, Helen! Love it!

Thank you both... yes, the colors are just from the print. It's been great fun; now I need to find more of those frames because I'm also really enjoying doing the miniatures.

I meant to say how much I love that first two-hat painting - got side-tracked again! The frames are fantastic.

I'm enchanted with your encaustic frames, and the paintings you've chosen to put with each one. It would be fun to see photos of the process beyond spraying the pages of the magazine. (Or maybe you teach that as a class...?)

I also love miniatures.

These are very delicate, precious and gorgeous. I especially love the one of the elephant.
